Booking & Payment Terms – Car Rental Mauritius
Reservation Confirmation
To secure your booking:
- A 20% deposit is required online at the time of reservation
- Your booking is confirmed only after payment is received
Remaining Balance
- The remaining amount is payable:
- Before delivery, or
- At vehicle handover
Premium Coverage Payment
- If you select Liberta Premium Coverage (Full Insurance), it must be paid 100% at booking
This ensures your vehicle is delivered fully protected.
Driver Requirements – Mauritius Car Hire
- Age: 23 to 75 years old
- Valid original driving license required
- Passport or ID must be presented
- Proof of address required for Mauritian residents
Security Deposit – Car Rental Mauritius
- A security deposit may apply depending on the vehicle
- Some vehicles qualify for:

Vehicle Usage Policy
To ensure safety and protect all customers:
All vehicles are strictly non-smoking (Penalty: MUR 3,000)- No reckless driving or illegal use
- No off-road driving unless approved
- No driving under the influence
Fuel Policy
- Vehicle is delivered with minimum half tank
- Must be returned same fuel level (same-to-same)
Cleanliness Policy
- Vehicle must be returned in reasonable condition
- Cleaning fee may apply if excessively dirty

- Comprehensive all-risk insurance
- No-fault accident → No cost
- At-fault accident → Limited to insurance excess
Not Covered
The following are fully chargeable:
- Lost keys

- Late returns charged per hour (MUR 200 – 1500)
- Extensions must be requested in advance
Cancellation Policy – Car Rental Mauritius
Standard Bookings
- Free cancellation up to 24 hours before pick-up
- Less than 24h → 50% charge
- No-show → 50% charge
Deposit Policy
- 20% deposit becomes non-refundable within 24 hours
Premium Coverage
- Refundable if cancelled >24h before pick-up
- Non-refundable within 24h
Traffic Fines & Responsibility
The renter is responsible for:
- Traffic fines
- Parking tickets
- Legal penalties
GPS Tracking
All vehicles are equipped with GPS for:
- Safety
- Theft prevention
- Operational efficiency
Force Majeure
Liberta Car Rental is not responsible for delays caused by:
- Weather conditions
- Natural disasters
- Government restrictions
